As well as becoming a Dad Bertie has had a cracking starting to this year's working test circuit. After running three tests he placed 2nd in The Labrador Retriever club of Ireland walk up test; finished in the final 7 dogs from a field of 26 at his next working test and finished top individual scoring dog at the Minority breeds team working test in the UK in May. He followed this up when winning the reserve dog CC at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship show under judge Mr J Horwell.

Achievements:

He is the dog everyone dreams of training. Self driven to retrieve at all costs but with the self control to handle training. That unique combination of having a dog with drive and steering. He won out of novice level at an any variety retriever working test competition when not quite 3 years old by placing 3rd at an AV open working test. He was awardedtop working dog in the UK at the CBRC AGM in 2011. He won the Autumn CBRC working test in 2011 and placed 2nd in the same event in 2012. Last year he won an open AV retriever working test and so far this year he has been in the top percentile in the working tests he's attended...finishing 2nd just last Sunday at the All Ireland Utility Gundog Working test. Bertie is currently also gathering green stars for his Irish show champion title he currently has 6 and just needs 2 more to complete. He is my main working dog throughout the winter, easy to have around and work with. He has inherited his parents great gamefinding ability and tenacity to work in all conditions and terrain.
